I witnessed a little magic while sitting in Mrs. Woods 5th grade class for a few hours. She’s been both of my kids favorite teacher so far. When I heard she was retiring, I knew I wanted to photograph her last class. What I experienced was AWESOME! She is loved so much by all her students and it shows. She lets them learn in whatever way they enjoy. Some kids were on computers, some outside, standing, crocheting…. All while she taught. She encouraged their works of art, laughed at their jokes, and at one point played a poetry video featuring Tupac’s lyrics. I found myself wishing I could have been one of her students. What a group of lucky kids to be taught by her — a real life “Miss Frizzle”!
